Election Deptt Ramban gears up for Panchayat Electoral Roll Revision-2024

Ramban : In preparation for the imminent Panchayat Electoral Roll Revision-2024, the Election Department Ramban conducted an extensive day-long training programme to sensitize Electoral Registration Officers (EROs), Assistant Electoral Registration Officers (AEROs) and Panchayat Election Booth Officials (PEBOs) about the critical aspects of the electoral roll revision process.
The event was organized in the Conference Hall, District Administrative Complex, under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner, Ramban Baseer-Ul-Haq Chaudhary who is also the District Panchayat Election Officer.
During the comprehensive training programme, the participants were educated on the intricacies of the registration process, briefed on the usage of specific forms during the revision, and instructed to ensure a flawless and healthy electoral roll.
Dwelling in detail about the significance of accurate electoral registration, Additional District Development Commissioner Rajinder Sharma emphasized the need for timely completion of the process.
The ADDC urged upon the concerned government functionaries and stakeholders for their active participation during Summary Revision of Panchayat Electoral Roll for ensuring cent per cent registration of all eligible voters in the Panchayat Electoral Rolls. The department is committed to achieve a thorough and accurate revision within the stipulated time frame, he added.
To inform the general masses about the Summary revision of Panchayat Electoral Roll, Programme Officer, ICDS, Jahangir Hashmi, who is Nodal officer SVEEP, asked the concerned to carry out SVEEP activities across the district.
Assistant Commissioner, Revenue, Giasul Haq provided key details, including the commencement of the Panchayat Electoral Roll Revision from January 15, 2024 to February 5, 2024, with 01.01.2024, as the qualifying date for registration of new eligible voters.
Highlighting the use of forms such as PER-2A, PER-2B, PER-2C, and PER-2D during the revision process, the Deputy District Election Office informed that four Special camps at Panchayat Polling Station locations would be organized on January 27& 28, 2024 and February 3 & 4, 2024 wherein Booth Levels Officers (BLOs) would be present to assist and guide the PEBOs in carrying out the registration process of new eligible voters.
Among others present were ERO, SDM, Ramsoo, Ghanshyam Basotra, AEROs, PEBOs, besides Master Trainers also attended the meeting.
