Shaleen Kabra chairs Public Darbar at Nowshera

Rajouri: Additional Chief Secretary (ACS), Jal Shakti, ShaleenKabra, on Tuesday chaired a Public Darbar at border block Nowshera of Rajouri district on Tuesday.
Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Om PrakashBhagat besides other senior officers were present on the occasion.
The event served as a pivotal platform for direct interaction between the government and the public, addressing an array of critical issues.
Various issues raised during the camp included scarcity of water at panchayatLanghar, speedy implementation of RDSS scheme, lack of ambulance facility at PHC Langhar; upgradation of HS Langhar, shortage of staff in Government institutions, liability regarding material payment under MGNREGA, shortage of staff at SDH Nowshera, connectivity to the south portal of Nowshera tunnel, dilapidated condition of PWD roads, construction of indoor stadium at Nowshera, dilapidated condition of BRO roads within municipal limits at Nowshera, start of work on Nowshera-Hanjana bridge, unsafe building of HSS Nowshera, construction of girls hostel and introduction of science subject at GDC Thandapani, KendriyaVidayalya for Nowshera, additional border bunkers, speedy implementation of JJM schemes, inclusion of left out eligible beneficiaries under PMAY-G.
Public also demanded identification of suitable land for construction of Gujjar hostel at Nowshera.
The people appreciated the online services of Revenue Department ensuring seamless and efficient delivery of digital services highlighting a positive shift towards user-friendly and accessible government initiatives.
On the occasion, various departmental stalls were installed to educate the public about their respective schemes.
Additional Chief Secretary inspected the stalls, seeking firsthand insights into the innovative schemes and initiatives being undertaken.
ACS Kabra assured to address the pressing issues brought forward by the local community. He emphasized that the top priority of the Government is to ensure that basic facilities and services are delivered to the general public in an efficient and timely manner.
He emphasized the pivotal role of digitalizing land records to enhance public convenience, highlighting the transition of revenue department services to an online platform.
He affirmed the unwavering commitment of Government towards ensuring access to clean tapped water connections for every household through the JalJeevan Mission.
He fervently urged PRI members to forge a seamless collaboration with the Jal Shakti Department, emphasizing its pivotal role in ensuring the successful implementation of the initiative.
ACS instructed the concerned officers from Jal Shakti Department to conduct blockwise meetings, ensuring comprehensive awareness among the public regarding the ongoing schemes under the JalJeevan Mission in their respective areas.
ShaleenKabra emphasized the critical role of PaaniSamitis at village level as they are the owners of water resources for its upkeep and quality. He informed that JJM is being implemented through a transparent e-tendering system. He said that as the infrastructure is being built to meet the requirements for the next 30 years and a huge quantum of work is involved including laying of a vast pipe distribution network. He emphasized the role of the public, urging them to promptly report any instances of substandard work, fostering accountability and ensuring the quality of ongoing projects under JJM.

Officers who attended the event were Chief Engineer Jal Shakti Jammu, HameshManchand; ADDC, Pawan Kumar; DFO Nowshera, SateyendraMaurya; ADC Nowshera, Kartar Singh; ADC Sunderbani, Vinod Kumar Behnal; CPO, Mohammad Khurshid; GM DIC, Ashwini Sharma; ACR, Imran Rashid Kataria; SE PDD, Sadiq Azad; SE Hydraulics, BharamJyoti Sharma; DPO, AuqilNuvaid; CMO, Dr Rajinder Sharma; CAHO, Dr Khalid Hussain; CAO, Sohan Singh besides other district and sectoral officers.
