Khansahib (Budgam): Chairman Jammu & Kashmir Peoples Democratic Front ( PDF )and former Minister Hakeem Muhammad Yaseen has cautioned people from the power hungry political parties who , like in past , were once again trying to befool public by raising exploitive slogans . He said these political parties have repeatedly betrayed the people and played with their sentiments since last about 70 years to remain in power and appease their bosses at the center.
Addressing a public rally at Khansaib on Monday Hakeem while cautioning the people from the exploitive slogans of the political parties, said that they always preferred power over the interests and aspirations of the people . He said time has come to teach a lesson to these political parties who were once again day- dreaming to grab the power again. He said they were the ones who made Art.370 hollow during their dispensations and were now shedding crocodile tears on its restoration. They have mastered in changing colours like chameleon to hoodwink ground situations as per their suits. He said much blood has flown down the Jehlum and the people have now understood that these parties were thriving on politics of deceit and emotional black mail. “People of Jammu and Kashmir want a peaceful life with dignity and honour, Hakeem said adding that they seek constitutional guarantees to thier rights on land and employment.
Hakeem also demanded early restoration of statehood and conduct of fair Assembly elections adding that Prime Minister Narendera Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah should address socio-political aspirations of the people of Jammu and Kashmir . He said thirty years long externally sponsored gun and turmoil have ruined future of the people adding that they need a healing touch now. They were yearning for thier own elected government to seek redressal of their grievances and address their concerns . He said in absence of an elected government since last 9 years, there was a deep disconnect between the common people and the administration adding that people have no access to get thier problems redressed . “There was no accountability on the ground and the common people have been pushed to wall”, Hakeem added. He said early restoration of statehood to Jammu and Kashmir and conduct of fair Assembly elections would be an effective confidence building measure CBMs to restore mutual trust and confidence between people and the Centre.
Hakeem asked his party cadres to expand their public outreach and assure people that PDF would continue its mission to safeguard socio-political interests of the people of Jammu and Kashmir at all costs. He said Centre should understand that people of Jammu and Kashmir were much worried about safeguarding their honour and identity.
