DC Kishtwar discusses MGNREGA Annual Plan for FY 2024-25, Reviews implementation of RDD Schemes

Kishtwar : Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar, Dr. Devansh Yadav on Monday chaired a comprehensive meeting to evaluate the performance of the Rural Development Department and formulation of MGNREGA Annual Plan for FY 2024-25.
The session focused on a detailed assessment of initiatives undertaken during the Financial Year 2023-24 including construction of pacca paths, Community kitchens, playgrounds, irrigation kuhls, Contour/wiremash bunding, Panchayat Bhawans , Plantation etc under MGNREGA.
The meeting placed a special emphasis on the convergence of MGNREGA with other schemes of Horticulture, Social forestry, for plantation on kahcharai land in vulnerable areas of District especially in block Nagseni. Deputy Commissioner Dr Yadav asked to include proposals for check dams in the Chatroo area, as well as action to be taken for the sustainability/utility of soakage pits in MGNREGA plan FY 2024-25.
Furthermore, the meeting highlighted the collaboration between the Revenue and Horticulture departments, supervised by ACR, to identify 5 kanal of Kahcharai land in each block for model plantation sites , focusing on Kiwi, plum, apple, apricot, among other crops to be provided by Horticulture Department.
Acknowledging the progress, the meeting revealed that a total of 80 works have been successfully completed as on date. Deputy Commissioner directed the concerned Block Development Officers (BDOs) to provide block-wise updates on the physical and financial progress, stressing the synchronization of financial targets with physical achievements for timely billing.
Besides this Shelf of plan under MGNREGA for FY 2024-25 was thoroughly discussed and necessary directions were imparted to BDOs for incorporation of NRM works, Tangible assets, under the shelf and accordingly ACD Kishtwar will put up final Annual Action Plan for approval before DPC by or before 25th of January 2024.
The meeting was attended by ACD Kishtwar, Manoj Kumar along with all BDOs and their representatives, collectively aiming to enhance and streamline rural development initiatives in Kishtwar district.
