Drug peddler arrested in Kulgam, Contraband substance also recovered: Police

Srinagar : Police on Saturday said that it has arrested a drug peddler in Kulgam and also recovered contraband substance from his possession.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that a police party of Police Station Qaimoh at a checkpoint established at Wanpora, Shamsipora intercepted a suspect identified as Nisar Ahmad Ganie S/o Bashir Ahmad Ganie R/o Hussanporabagh carrying a nylon bag and during search recovered 3 Kgs of grinded cannabis like contraband substance concealed in a nylon bag from the possession of the said who was arrested and shifted to police station where he remains in custody.
Stating that a case vide FIR No. 03/2024 under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Qaimoh besides which further investigation was also initiated, Police in the concluding para of it’s above quoted statement police appealed people to cooperate with it in curbing the menace of drugs from the society and also reiterated it’s commitment to act tough against the criminals as per law.
