Kupwara : The District Development Commissioner, (DDC) Kupwara, Ayushi Sudan on Saturday chaired a meeting of officers of District Red Cross Committee (DRCS) to review its functioning.
During the meeting, the DDC, who is also Chairperson of DRCS, Kupwara emphasized upon concerned officers for proper training of Red Cross Society and highlighting of its activities to make it more vibrant.
CEO Kupwara was directed to deposit an outstanding amount of annual Red Cross Fund for the FY, 2022-23 and 2023-24 into District Red Cross Head.
Regarding the election of Representative of District Red Cross Society, District Social Welfare Officer Kupwara was directed to identify suitable members in consultation with ACR to be enrolled to complete the quorum and ACR will conduct election of district representatives of Red Cross.
Regarding setting up Dispensaries in remote areas under Red Cross, CMO Kupwara apprised the chair about the detail of remote, under-served areas for Mobile Medical unit and dispensaries in the district, which has already been shared with the higher ups.
The DDC directed DTO to register the District Red Cross society as NIKSHEY Mitra for extending nutritional support to the TB Patients through Red Cross and also design suitable food packets for patients. It was given out in the meeting that 4 leprosy patients are undergoing treatment in the district.
Principals of the degree colleges of the district were directed to deposit the amount collected under Red Cross in the District Red Cross Fund.
Meeting was attended by ADC Handwara, Nazir Ahmad Mir, ACR, Principals of degree Colleges, CEO, CMO, DTO and other members of the Red Cross Committee.
