2020 UPSC Top Rank Holder, Jatin Kishore All set To Take Charge As Director DIPR J&K

Srinagar : Jatin Kishore, an accomplished civil servant and recipient of the 2020 UPSC All India Rank is all set to take up the role of Director Information and Public Relations (DIPR) in J& K Government. Previously serving as the Sub-Divisional Magistrate in Uri, where he also held the position of Sub-Registrar concurrently, Kishore brings a wealth of administrative experience to his new responsibilities.
In his elevated position, Kishore not only shoulders the responsibilities of Additional Secretary but also takes on the role of Director of Information for Jammu and Kashmir. This decision, effective immediately, is a testament to Kishore’s exceptional track record in administrative roles and his outstanding performance in the civil service sector.
Kishore’s journey to success includes securing an impressive All India Rank of 2 in the UPSC Civil Service Examination in 2020, showcasing his unwavering dedication to public service. Originally from New Delhi, he holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from St. Stephen’s College, Delhi University, followed by a Master’s degree in Economics from the prestigious Delhi School of Economics.
His success story is marked by resilience, as he faced initial challenges, falling short in his first attempt during the UPSC prelims. However, Kishore persisted and ultimately achieved a remarkable rank in his second endeavor, crediting a significant part of his success to the steadfast support of his parents. His father, employed in the revenue department, and his mother, a teacher, played pivotal roles in shaping his journey towards becoming an IAS officer.
Beyond his achievements in the civil services, Kishore showcased academic prowess by excelling in the UPSC IES in 2018. He secured the first rank in the Indian Economic Services examination, highlighting his dedication and excellence in the field of economics.
Jatin Kishore’s combination of administrative expertise and academic achievements positions him strongly to meet the challenges of his new dual role. His appointment is anticipated to bring valuable insights and effective leadership to the administrative landscape of Jammu and Kashmir.
Jatin as Sub-Divisional Magistrate in Uri Baramulla, has emerged as a catalyst for transformative change, implementing crucial reforms at the grassroots level. His dedicated efforts have brought about positive impacts, addressing long-standing issues and elevating the quality of life for the local community.
He had assumed office as Sub-Divisional Magistrate with a vision for inclusive and sustainable development. Over the past few years, he has meticulously worked on a series of initiatives aimed at improving various aspects of the region. Here are some of the key reforms he has introduced:
