Jammu : The Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra, a nationwide initiative to spread awareness and ensure the implementation of various government schemes, reached Panchayat Badyal Brahmana of Block RS Pura, on Thursday.
The event was graced by the presence of Jugal Kishore Sharma, Member of Parliament who interacted with the beneficiaries and lauded their efforts to achieve self-reliance and development.
The VBSY Van, which carries information and material related to various government schemes, was welcomed by the Sarpanches, Panches, and prominent citizens of the Panchayat and the neighbouring areas.
With great admiration, MP Jugal Kishore Sharma praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s foresight to intimate the Yatra, emphasising its crucial role in connecting the government and the grassroots.
“This Yatra is not merely about informing our citizens about the multitude of schemes at their disposal,” he echoed, “It’s about making sure that no one, particularly the most disadvantaged sections of our society, is excluded in the journey towards a developed India.”
The VBSY Van showcased the achievements and benefits of schemes such as PM SVANidhi, PM Awas Yojana, PM Ujjwala Yojana, PM Jan Dhan Yojana, PM Kisan Samman Nidhi, PM Fasal Bima Yojana, and others. The representatives of the line departments also distributed IEC material and addressed the queries and grievances of the public. The event concluded with a Sankalp Pledge taken by the participants to make India a Developed Nation by 2047, followed by the National Anthem.
In another event of the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra, the VBSY Van visited Panchayat Chorli of Block Bishnah where the VBSY Van was warmly received by Dharminder Kumar, Member of District Development Council, Bishnah, along with the Sarpanches, Panches, and prominent citizens of the Panchayat and the adjoining Panchayats.
The event was organised by the Rural Development Department under the supervision of Roopali Mahajan, Block Development Officer, Bishnah.
The VBSY Van displayed various government schemes and their impact on the lives of the people, especially the poor and the marginalized sections of the society. The schemes included PM Garib Kalyan Yojana, PM Ayushman Bharat Yojana, PM Mudra Yojana, PM Shram Yogi Maan-dhan Yojana, and others.
The officials of the line departments also distributed pamphlets and brochures and answered the questions and doubts of the public. The event ended with a Sankalp Pledge taken by the attendees to make India a Developed Nation by 2047, followed by the National Anthem.

On the occasion, IEC Van traversed through Ahalan Payeen, Ahalan Bala, Frehmoo, Gadole C, Hallpora, Soaf A, Soaf B, Kheripora, Chree, Soaf C, Panzgam, Irkmoo, Nagam, Adigam, Zalangam, Taki Magam A, Magam B, Sonbari A, Sonbari B and Wangam A GPs.
During the event, awareness was created about diverse welfare schemes and fostered active participation in the spirit of ‘Jan Bhagidari’ to achieve 100% saturation.
The Yatra camps were transformed into lively hubs, engaging people in events and offering on-the-spot services. Health camps played a crucial role, screening 93,347 individuals for prevalent health concerns such as TB, sickle cell anemia, and non-communicable diseases.
Over 16,097 My Bharat volunteers and 2.28 lakh individuals pledged the transformative ‘Sankalp Pledge’ in District Anantnag. Noteworthy contributors, including 1,288 women, 3,601 students, 396 local artists, and 397 sports personalities, received accolades for their dedication.
The Yatra actively involved farmers through drone demonstrations and Soil Health Card sessions, promoting sustainable Natural Farming practices. It celebrated milestones in 100% JJM saturation, ODF+ status, and Digitization of Land Records.
At the core were 9,777 beneficiaries who shared their stories in ‘Meri Kahani Meri Zubani’ sessions, illustrating the profound impact of government schemes on their lives.

Despite adverse weather conditions, the residents displayed remarkable enthusiasm, turning out in large numbers to witness the campaign.
