Doda : Deputy Commissioner of Doda, Harvinder Singh, accompanied by SSP Doda Abdul Qayoom, conducted a critical visit to the landslide site near Pul Doda. This inspection was crucial due to a significant landslide that severely disrupted road connectivity, choking traffic movement, especially near ongoing road construction work. The landslide’s impact has raised concerns about the area’s safety and accessibility.
During their visit, the Deputy Commissioner engaged in discussions with the General Manager of NHIDCL about the current challenges posed by the landslide. He issued directives to the concerned authorities and officials responsible for road maintenance, emphasizing the urgency of clearing the landslide debris to restore smooth traffic flow and ensure public safety. Swift response is crucial to minimize disruptions and potential risks to commuters.
Furthermore, DC Doda reviewed the ongoing construction works, including the building of bathrooms and passenger sheds along the national highways. The GM of NHIDCL assured that the work was being executed on a priority basis, with a focus on timely completion.
The visit, attended by the SSP Doda, ACR Doda, the GM of NHIDCL, and Tehsildar Doda, reflects the administration’s proactive approach in addressing infrastructure needs and responding to natural disasters. By assessing both the landslide’s impact and the progress of essential infrastructure, the officials demonstrated their commitment to ensuring public safety and enhancing travel convenience on national highways.
