DC Kupwara reviews arrangements for conduct of R- Day celebration

Kupwara: In order to ensure proper arrangements for ensuing Republic Day (RD) celebration in the district, the Deputy Commissioner (DC), Kupwara, Ayushi Sudan on Wednesday convened a meeting of all concerned officers, here and fixed responsibilities on them.
Speaking at the occasion, the DC stressed upon the officers to ensure hassle free arrangements for smooth conduct of the National Event and instructed them to maintain proper coordination and follow a timeline for ensuring arrangements well in advance. She asked the officers to encourage more participation with much fervour and enthusiasm.
The DC directed all the departments to display Tableaus on the eve of Republic Day Parade to showcase developmental activities of their respective departments and government schemes. She said all efforts shall be made to make the National Function more attractive and informative.
She also stressed the need for maintaining protocol in seating arrangement and also issued directions to the police department for taking proper protocol of the National Flag and security arrangements.
The DC gave directions that Republic Day celebration functions shall be held at Sub divisional, Tehsil and Block level with same fervour and enthusiasm.
Earlier, the ADC Kupwara, GhulamNabiBhat briefed the meeting about the programme and responsibilities of each officer and informed that the main function of the Republic Day will be held at District Police Lines (DPL) Kupwara, where National Flag will be hoisted and the VIP will take salute on the March Past comprising the contingents of JKP, JKAP, CRPF, IRP, BSF, FPP, Home Guard, NCC cadets and school children.
It was also informed that the function will start with ShahnaiVadan at 8 AM, while the National Flag will be hoisted at 9:55 AM.
Entrusting the responsibilities for smooth conduct of the event, the DC asked R&B Department, Mechanical Engineering and Municipality Kupwara to ensure proper sanitation and cleanliness of the DPL ground.
Assistant Commissioner Development (ACD) was directed to make seating arrangements for the function. Power Development and PHE departments were directed to ensure uninterrupted power and water supply. CMO Kupwara was ordered to deploy doctors and paramedics along with Ambulance and first aid.
The police department was entrusted with security arrangements and the Information Department was asked to facilitate proper Public Addressing System and media coverage of the event. The Manager SRTC was asked to make sufficient arrangements of vehicles.
Other arrangements including refreshment, deployment of magistrates, arrangement of cultural programmes, barricading, facility of commentators and availability of fire-tenders were also reviewed.
The Deputy Commissioner also directed Officers to ensure their presence including staff in the Republic Day functions.
ADC Handwara, ADC Kupwara, ASP Kupwara, District and Sectoral Officers, besides senior officers of BSF, CRPF and Police were present in the meeting.
