VBS Yatra campaign conducted at Pyt. Halqa Shirmal Shopian, Director Legal Metrology J&K visits Shopian

Shopian : Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra (VBSY) was on Monday conducted at Panchayat Halqa Shirmal Shopian, with visiting officer, Director, Legal Metrology J&K, Majid K Drabu in chair, marking a significant milestone in its journey.
Speaking on the occasion, the Director said that the VBSY is aimed at fostering community engagement and disseminating awareness regarding myriads of government schemes and initiatives and to serve the underserved areas by reaching at their doorsteps.
He exhorted upon the participants and all locals of Shirmal Shopian to come forward and avail the benefits of various schemes of different departments meant for the wellbeing of the general public.
Amidst the Yatra’s activities, participants were made aware of the benefits of various schemes emphasizing the profound significance of this campaign. This was followed by individuals affirming their commitment to holistic national development by taking the Viksit Sankalp Bharat pledge.
Speaking on the occasion, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Shopian, Dr. Zakir Hussain emphasized that the primary objective of VBSY is to educate the public about the various government welfare schemes so that people, especially downtrodden, can avail the benefits of these schemes to earn their livelihood. He said that it is our collective responsibility to make the people aware of the benefits of various schemes of different departments of the district.
The other speakers said that the Government is diligently working to extend the benefits of schemes directly to the people’s doorsteps. They also encouraged the people to actively engage in accessing the benefits of these schemes, highlighting their pivotal role in promoting inclusive development for everyone.
Stalls had also been installed for general awareness of the people of Shirmal Shopian.
The Yatra is a significant step towards the achievement of universal coverage of eligible people under different schemes.
Assistant Commissioner Development Shopian, Hilal Ahmed Jeri; BDO, Shopian and other concerned officers and officials were present.
