Jammu: District Development Commissioner Sachin Kumar Vaishya, on Saturday convened a meeting to review the implementation of varied schemes meant for the welfare of farmers.
The DDC reviewed the status of PM Kisan Samman Nidhi, Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana and Status of Credit Linked Schemes in the district. He asked the concerned officers to submit the action taken report on the previous directions for the better implementation of these schemes.
He also enquired about the number of beneficiaries covered under PM Kisan Samman Nidhi and the Aadhaar Seeding status of the farmers. He directed the Village Nodal Officers and the concerned SDMs to expedite the process of verification and delivery of the benefits to the eligible farmers.
He further reviewed the progress of eKYC and other land related issues that are hampering the target achievement under PM Kisan. He instructed the officers to resolve the issues on priority basis and ensure that no farmer is left out of the scheme.
The DDC also took stock of the coverage under PM FBY and asked the officers to achieve maximum coverage under the scheme. He said that the scheme provides insurance cover to the crops against natural calamities and helps the farmers in mitigating the risks.
He also reviewed the status of Kisan Credit Card coverage and Pradhan Mantri Formalisation of Micro Food Processing Enterprises (PM FME) disbursements in the district. He urged the officers to create awareness among the farmers about the benefits of these schemes and facilitate them in availing the credit facilities and subsidies.
He said that the government is making lots of efforts for facilitating the farmers community and it is important that the officers deliver diligently and facilitate all eligible beneficiaries. He said that the schemes are aimed at enhancing the income and livelihood of the farmers and boosting the agriculture sector in the district.
The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Ansuya Jamwal, Chief Planning Officer Uttam Singh, Chief Agriculture Officer Vinod Kundal, Chief Horticulture Officer and other concerned officers. Sub Divisional Magistrates attended the meeting virtually.
