Ganderbal : In a concerted effort to combat the escalating issue of drug menace, the Jammu & Kashmir RET Teachers Forum on Wednesday convened a Teachers’ Conference on Drug De-Addiction at the Town Hall in Ganderbal.
The event, held under the banner of the forum, drew participation from hundreds of educators representing the length and breadth of District Ganderbal.
The event was presided over by the Deputy Commissioner of Ganderbal, Shyambir along with CEO Ganderbal and Deputy Superintendent of Police Headquarters.
The conference, aimed at fostering mass awareness, centered on crucial aspects of identification and response strategies concerning the pressing problem of drug addiction.
Speaking on the occasion, the DC underscored the gravity of the situation and emphasized collaborative efforts to address the issue effectively.
While appreciating the organizers, the DC acknowledged that the teachers strive to create a supportive environment within schools that fosters resilience and deters students from falling victim to the scourge of addiction. He urged all to make a collaborative effort to build a strong foundation for a healthier and drug-free future for the youth of the district.
Alongside these key figures, the conference also saw the presence of various civil society members, reflecting a united front in the battle against drug abuse. The collective commitment of teachers, administrators, and community leaders showcased the dedication of the Ganderbal district in tackling the challenges posed by the growing drug menace.
The Jammu & Kashmir RET Teachers Forum extends its gratitude to all participants, dignitaries, and community members for their active engagement in this vital initiative. The conference marks a significant step towards fostering a drug-free environment and promoting the overall well-being of the community.
