Srinagar : Chairman Jammu & Kashmir Peoples Democratic Front (J&K PDF) and former Minister Hakeem Muhammad Yaseen has urged LG Manoj Sinha to fill up vacant post of the JKPSC Chairman ,lying vacant since last month.
In a statement issued here on Wednesday Hakeem said in absence of Chairman ,functioning of PSC has been hit badly adding that uncertainty prevails over the exams being conducted by the Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission (JKPSC), Stating therein further that several exams have been postponed as the vacant post of the PSC Chairman has not been filled since last one month. He said results of some vacancies were also pending for want of nod for appointment of new chairman. He said the previous PSC Chairman Satish Chander, has retired on 19th of November 2023 after attaining the age of superannuation. He said it was a matter of grave concern that all the exams being conducted by the PSC in Jammu and Kashmir have been postponed as the post of PSC Chairman has still been lying vacant. He said delay in appointing new Chairman for PSC speaks volumes about non seriousness of the helmsmen on future of J&K job aspirants. PDF Chairman has urged Lt Governor Manoj Sinha to appoint a suitable person as Chairman PSC at the earliest so that the exams are conducted under different categories to secure future of aspirants .
“Pertinently, exams for promotions in different departments were scheduled to be held in November, December and January next year. Now, they all stand postponed, “ Hakeem Yaseen added . Similarly results of some written tests for various posts were also withheld. He said government should know sensitivity of the situation and appoint new Chairman for PSC at the earliest.
