Samba : Principal Secretary, PWD (R&B), Shailendra Kumar, on Tuesday chaired a Public Darbar at Anandpur panchayat of Purmandal block here, to address community issues and concerns.
The event recorded several crucial issues pertaining to road connectivity in Khara upper and lower areas besides Karad, Amli and Sumb areas, construction of bridge at Madana, road repairs, construction of bridge from Uttarbehni to Sangar, finalization of DPR for Health and Wellness Centre at Katwalta Panchayat and construction of well in Deon area.
A comprehensive memorandum of demands was submitted by Avtar Singh, DDC member Purmandal and Arshad Begum, BDC Chairman Purmandal. Besides, DDC Vice Chairperson Samba, Balwan Singh also submitted a memorandum of demands with request to enhance connectivity in remote block of Sumb.
Chairman DDC Samba, Keshav Dutt Sharma applauded the government’s efforts to engage with citizens through initiatives like Public Darbar and Back to Village, emphasizing the importance of understanding the people’s pressing demands.
Principal Secretary reaffirmed the government’s commitment towards prioritizing connectivity in remote and far-flung areas. He highlighted the significant increase in road construction and blacktopping activities in recent years.
Deputy Commissioner Samba, Abhishek Sharma, highlighted achievements registered in the district, such as saturation of Golden Cards in 96 Panchayats, completion of 83 schemes under Jal Jeevan Mission, and enrollment of almost 1% of total population on Daksh Kisan portal under HADP.
The event was also attended by ADDC Samba, Rajinder Singh, Sarpanchs, PRIs and all district and sectoral officers of district administration.
