Awantipora : The Department of Mathematical Sciences, Islamic University of Sciences & Technology observed National Mathematics Day, commemorating the renowned mathematician Srinivasa Ramanujan on his birth anniversary.
The he event was presided over by Dr. Aabid Hussain Shalla, Dean School of Sciences IUST and witnessed active participation from faculty, scholars, and students. Dr. Shalla underscored the importance of mathematics across disciplines, emphasizing the need to enhance mathematical knowledge among students. Dr. Peer Bilal Ahmad, Head Department of Mathematical Sciences, provided a detailed insight into Ramanujan’s pioneering discoveries and numerous contributions to the field. The speakers urged students to draw inspiration from Ramanujan’s dedication to the study of mathematics and strive to replicate a similar commitment.
