Ganderbal : The Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Ganderbal, Mushtaq Ahmad Simnani presided over a significant meeting to discuss progress on various development works of Manasbal Lake including pedestrian walk path from Kondabal onward.
The ADDC underscored the urgency of completing demarcation work at the earliest possible time for pedestrian convenience. The discussion also delved into the broader vision of preserving and beautifying Manasbal, with a commitment to transforming it into a prominent tourist destination.
It was decided in the meeting that a joint team of CEO WMDA, Executive Engineer R&B and Tehsildar Lar shall conduct a demarcation drive so that encroachments, if any, made on the state land in and around Manasbal Lake shall be removed.
The Executive Engineer, R&B Ganderbal and Tehsildar Lar were directed that the path shall be constructed in such a way that all the encroached land shall be retrieved and shall be included in the area of Mansbal so that further encroachments are stopped and this path shall form as a boundary of Manasbal Lake.
The ADDC expressed a keen interest in environmental sustainability, emphasizing the need for effective garbage removal mechanisms around Manasbal.
Recognizing the significance of coordinated efforts, he directed the Social Forestry Department to collaborate with the R&B department for a comprehensive inspection and prompt initiation of the required work.
The meeting concluded with a collective commitment to expedite the assigned tasks for the benefit of the community and the promotion of tourism in the area.
The meeting was attended by the CEO of WMDA, ACR and other officials.
