GDC Marh hosts investiture ceremony

Jammu : Government Degree College Marh on Tuesday organised Investiture ceremony to entrust responsibility of college affairs to the young students in the form of constitution of Presidium of the College students.
The program commenced under the guidance of the college Principal Prof. Dr Rakesh Kumar Koul.
The College, as a maiden new policy, provided opportunity to the Alumni of the College to pin the Badges of different categories to the newly constituted Presidium of the College students as a mark of respect and responsibility on the alumni to contribute vibrantly in the development of the college as premier stakeholders.
The President of the registered alumni association Atul Narayan Singh and President of the first Presidium of the College Harsh Anand and Faculty Members pinned the badges.
The newly constituted presidium of students comprised of President Sanjana Bhagat, Co-President Lakhbir Singh, Head Boy Harsh Kumar, Head Girl Shivani Devi, Vice-President Sushain Sharma (Boys), Vice-President Prerna Balgotra (Girls), Treasure Neeraj Kumar, General Secretary Nandveer Choudhary, Discipline Secretary Varun Sharma, Joint Secretary Pawneet Kumar, Joint Secretary Sandeep Mottan, Joint Secretary IQAC Riya Sharma, Joint Secretary IQAC Rohit Kumar, Cultural Secretary Ritika Choudhary, Communication Secretary Gitanjali Devi, Sports Secretary Eshan Saini, Media Secretary Khushi Mangotra, NSS Incharge Boby Kumar Baitha, Literary Secretary Lakshmi Sharma, Advisor Vivek Sharma.
Principal of the college Prof. Dr. Rakesh Kumar Koul, while addressing the newly constituted presidium, apprised the students about their unique potential they have to lead the college in future so as to contribute towards nation building. Pledge was administered by students where they promised to uphold the values and traditions of the college campus. Torch ceremony took place in which lightening of torch was done by Principal Prof. Dr. Rakesh Kumar Koul and then the torch was handed over to the new President Sanjana Bhagat of Semester V, and the whole presidium of college as a symbol of performing all duties and responsibilities for the welfare of college. The whole presidium while holding a torch in hand, circled around the college as an inspiration to the new entrants of the college. Presidium expressed their feelings and gratitude towards the college.
The programme was coordinated by Prof. Imtiaz Shahid (HOD Zoology), Prof. Madhvi Parasher (HOD Botany), Dr. Ram Dayal (HOD Mathematics), Dr. Ashu Jolly (HOD Education), Prof. Anjana Chib (HOD EVS), Prof. Asha Kumari (HOD Geography), Dr. Balwinder Saini (HOD Chemistry), Prof. Sachin Kumar Bhagat (HOD Political Science), Ravi Kumar(PTI), Dr. Sheetal Devi (HOD Dogri), Dr. Ruchika Devi (Deptt. Of English), Rachhpal Lal, Anita Devi and Mohit Kalotra. Students who presented their esteemed contribution in necessary arrangements for the event were Abhay Singh Jamwal, Komal Bhagat, Gourav Sharma.
