Kathua : As part of government’s ambitious initiative “Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra”, Commissioner Secretary Social Welfare, Sheetal Nanda, on Monday visited Basantpur panchayat and participated in various events besides assessing issues and concerns of locals.
Commissioner Secretary chaired the main event held under VBSY at Government Higher Secondary School Basantpur wherein she interacted with the students, teachers, and locals.
She said that the initiative is aimed to educate the residents of Basantpur Panchayat about the government schemes and programmes. She highlighted various schemes being launched by the government for socio economic empowerment of people.
“The progress achieved in Kathua district under the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra is appreciably commendable,” Commissioner Secretary asserted. She emphasised the need of collective efforts by all stakeholders to promote development and empowerment at the grassroots level.
Commissioner Secretary stressed on the importance of education and skill development as the catalyst for progress and prosperity. She emphasized the need for collaboration between the government, PRIs and community-based organizations to enable sustainable and inclusive development in the district.
“The VBSY initiative has been instrumental in providing accessibility to education, improving health infrastructure, and advancing entrepreneurship and skill development across Jammu & Kashmir”, she maintained.
Deputy Commissioner, Rakesh Minhas, apprised that as of now 120 panchayats of the district have been covered by the IEC Vans under VBSY benefitting around 1.15 lakh people through awareness generation regarding various flagship schemes of the government.
On the occasion, the Commissioner Secretary handed over 09 Motorised Tricycles, Baby Kits, Ayushman Cards to the beneficiaries. Besides, Viksit Bharat Sankalp pledge was also administered to the participants.
Vice Chairman DDC, Kathua, Raghunadan Singh, ACD besides other district and sectoral officers were present on the occasion.

Launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in November 2023, the Yatra is the largest-ever outreach initiative of the Government of India spanning across 2.60 lakh Gram Panchayats and more than 4000 Urban Local Bodies.

The impactful journey has covered 320 Panchayats out of 385 Panchayats in the district till date.
Nine Panchayats including Cheepora B, Cherkote A, Cherkote B, Doniwari, Gogal A, Gogal B, Kanthpora, Kanthpora A, and Kawari were on Monday covered under VBSY. The VBSY events saw enthusiastic participation from the community, PRIs and departments.
Block Development Officer, Wavoora, Towheed Ahmad apprised participants about objectives of the Yatra. He said that the primary motive of the program is to reach out to the people who are left out of the benefits guaranteed under government schemes.

Jammu : As part of the ongoing VIKSIT BHARAT SANKALP YATRA, a special van reached Panchayat Phinder Block Miran Sahib on Monday amid a warm welcome by the members of the Swagat Committee and PRIs led by Vidya Motan, DDC member Miran Sahib and Prof Garu Ram DDC member RS PURA.
The Van displayed a video message of the PM, in which he urged the people to take a pledge to work for the progress and prosperity of the country. The people present at the event took the Viksit Bharat Sankalp, and expressed their commitment to the cause.

Reasi : Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra marked a significant milestone as it reached seven panchayats in the Reasi district, on Monday. The van traversed through Aghar Ballian, Panassa, Sarh Upper A, Bathoie A, Salalkote, Salal Kotli, and Talwara lower, bringing together communities for a transformative experience.
At Aghar Ballian Panchayat, Assistant Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Abdul Star graced the occasion as the chief guest. The event featured a dynamic program, including the screening of a recorded message from the Prime Minister and “Meri Kahani, Meri Zubani,” where beneficiaries shared their success stories from various schemes.
The session also included a demonstration of Satat Krishi Activities, featuring a drone demonstration on agriculture use. ADC Abdul Star, along with the local community, took the pledge on Viksit Bharat, emphasizing their commitment to the nation’s development.
An interactive session with progressive farmers focused on Natural Farming and Soil Health Cards, fostering knowledge exchange for sustainable agricultural practices. Additionally, a cultural performance titled “Dharti Kahe Pukar Ke” and a Swachata song by women Self-Help Groups (SHG) added a vibrant touch to the event.

Udhampur: Government College for Women (GCW) Udhampur organized “Pledge taking ceremony” under Viksit Bharat @2047” for the students and Faculty, here on Monday.
The event was organised under the patronage of the College Prof Anjali Mahajan and guidance of Dr. Sanjeet Kaur, Convenor, Viksit Bharat @2047 Committee.
A mass awareness programme on Viksit Bharat by the year 2047 was held in the common hall of the college.
Prominent Speakers of the occasion were Prof Sanjeeet Kour of Zoology Department, Convenor, Viksit Bharat @2047 Committee. The Students were sensitized about the Sharing of novel ideas for the development of the nation. It was followed by a Pledge taking ceremony on Viksit Bharat by the students as well as faculty members of the college.
Principal of the College, Prof. Anjali Mahajan in her message, highlighted the importance of the theme- “Viksit Bharat @2047” in the development of the nation and the role of students in upcoming years. She also stressed upon the participants to be the torchbearers and spread ideas for developing present societies, communities and areas for making India self-reliant and self- sufficient. She also lauded the effort of the Viksit Bharat @2047 committee for hosting the event.
Participants were sensitized for participating in Viksit Bharat @2047 Campaign by sharing their ideas at mygov.in portal.

VBS Yatra resonates triumphantly across all 116 Connected Panchayts in Distt Kishtwar
Kishtwar : The Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra (VBSY) reached a significant milestone in Kishtwar District by completing coverage of 116 connected Panchayats in District Kishtwar on Monday.
Thousands of the populace in all the 13 blocks thronged the Yatra which speaks loud about the success of the VBSY in the district.
The role of Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar Dr Devansh Yadav along with Block Level and panchayat level field functionaries along with PRIs was pivotal throughout the journey of the VBSY in the district.
Initiated as a mega Awareness Campaign by the Union Government, this comprehensive endeavor aimed to enlighten and inform the populace about the Citizen Centric Schemes (CSS) and flagship initiatives through an array of impactful activities.
The ambitious odyssey ended with the arrival of the Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) Van at the remaining Loidhar A Panchayat of Block Mughal Maidan and Pochhal B1 & Pochhal B2 of Block Kishtwar.
The Van acted as a catalyst, disseminating the Prime Minister’s message among the local communities.
At each location, the Yatra was warmly welcomed by the people and Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs), emphasizing the resonance of this initiative within the grassroots.
Elevating the spirit of the Yatra were the testimonials of beneficiaries sharing the benefits derived from CSSs during the ‘Meri Kahani Meri Zubani’.

In a bid to promote holistic well-being, special health camps were conducted, focusing on screening for TB, Sickle Cell, and Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs), underscoring the Yatra’s commitment to community health.
