IIM Jammu hosts Alumni event featuring Speak Series

Jammu : The Indian Institute of Management Jammu (IIM) Jammu hosted its highly anticipated alumni event featuring the Alumni Speak Series. The gathering brought together distinguished alumni, current students, and faculty members for an enriching reunion. Notable attendees included Sfruti Patkar, Strategic Executive Assistant at the MD’s office, Mercedes Benz Financial Service; Vasundara Gupta, Application Performance Manager at Maximl Labs; and Mayank Chandna, National Key Account Manager at Zomato.
The event also saw the esteemed presence of Professor Jabir Ali, Dean Academics; Dr. Pradeep K Tarei, Chairperson Alumni Relations; and Dr. Jaganth. G., Co-Chairperson, Alumni Relations, IIM Jammu. The “Margdarshan” Alumni Speak Series served as a vibrant platform for the exchange of ideas, experiences, and
insights, fostering a sense of community and collaboration among the IIM Jammu alumni network. Attendees shared anecdotes of their journeys, underscoring the transformative impact of their IIM Jammu education.
Commencing with a warm welcome address by Prof. Jabir Ali, Dean Academics, IIM Jammu, the event highlighted the paramount importance of alumni interactions. Prof. Jabir Ali stated, "Alumni play a pivotal role in shaping the
Institute’s image. Their experiences foster relatability and catalyze the current batch’s accelerated learning and growth. The Alumni Speak Series featured insightful contributions from Shri Mayank Chandna, National Key Account
Manager at Zomato, Ms. Sfurti Patkar, Strategic Executive Assistant at the MD’s office, Mercedes Benz Financial Service, and Vasundhara Gupta, Application Performance Manager at Maximl Labs. Their valuable insights added depth to the discourse, resonating with the audience and providing a rich source of inspiration and guidance. Mayank Chandna shared reflections on his dynamic career path, encouraging the audience to take up new challenges, keep learning, and be open to adaptation in their careers. Sfurti Patkar’s exceptional achievements and insights set the tone for an engaging and informative session, emphasizing that the best learning occurs after you graduate from college and start working—it is a lifelong process, so embrace changes and keep learning. Vasundhara Gupta enlightened students on the role of product management, stating Product management begins
with marketing; after identifying market gaps, you develop the product. The vote of thanks was presented by Dr. Jaganth. G, Co-Chairperson, Alumni Relations Committee. The Alumni Speak Series, encapsulated by Margdarshan, reaffirms IIM Jammu's commitment to nurturing a dynamic learning environment that seamlessly integrates academia with real-world experiences. These interactions serve as bridges, connecting the rich legacy of the institute with the aspirations of its current and future stakeholders, building a robust community of leaders and change makers.
