DC Rajouri reviews performance of line Deptts on Good Governance Index

Rajouri : Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Vikas Kundal, on Saturday chaired a significant meeting to meticulously review and assess the performance of different departments on the District Good Governance Index (DGGI).
The meeting was characterized by detailed deliberations on the sector-wise achievements and progress made by departments spanning Agriculture and Allied sectors, Industries & Commerce, Human Resource Development, Public Health, Public Infrastructure & Utilities, Economic Governance, Social Welfare & Development, Judicial & Public Security, Environment, and Citizen-Centric Governance under the umbrella of Good Governance Index.
In his address to the officers present in the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner highlighted the paramount importance of the Good Governance Index as a standardized tool to evaluate the state of governance and measure the tangible impact of diverse governmental interventions at the grassroots level.
He directed the officers to meticulously analyze the previous iteration of the Good Governance Index, identifying and addressing any existing gaps and formulating a comprehensive strategy to bridge these gaps, thereby ensuring the realization of desired outcomes.
The DC further emphasized the necessity for continuous monitoring and evaluation of governance indicators, enabling the identification of areas that require improvement and facilitating the implementation of appropriate corrective measures. He fervently encouraged all departments to foster a spirit of collaboration and innovation, leveraging novel approaches to augment governance practices within the district.
Underscoring the commitment of the administration to providing unparalleled services to the general public, the Deputy Commissioner called upon the concerned officers to exert additional efforts and ensure that the common masses encounter no inconveniences. He shed light on the proactive measures of the government implemented to guarantee transparency and accountability in its operations.
The officers were directed unequivocally to ensure that the manifold benefits offered by diverse schemes and programs are effectively disseminated to each and every deserving beneficiary within the district.
The Deputy Commissioner accentuated the significance of attaining both physical and financial targets within the prescribed timelines, as this would pave the way for the seamless provision of essential services to the general populace.
