Increasing suitability of non construction workers because of the quality work they do on minimum wages is unprecedentedly increasing their engagement and involvement not in civil construction works but also in agriculture and horticulture activities in both summer and autumn seasons across Kashmir.
From construction civil and commercial constructions to coaching of students in academics the spirit of hard work among the locals has come down to it’s new low in Kashmir. While locals in Jammu & Kashmir are glad to hire non local construction workers in the construction of both residential houses and as well as commercial buildings only because of finding in them greater spirit of hard work than the local construction workers, the coaching centres imparting coaching for several classes and competitive examinations like NEET and Civil Services to local students in Kashmir show a greater interest in hiring non-local teachers for the coaching centres only because of finding in them deeper commitment for their profession than the non local teachers. Interestingly the increasing suitability of non construction workers because of the quality work they do on minimum wages is unprecedentedly increasing their engagement and involvement not in civil construction works but also in agriculture and horticulture activities in both summer and autumn seasons across Kashmir. The trend as such has drastically reduced the opportunities of livelihoods for local youth in Kashmir valley not due to change in the political scenario and functioning of the Government but due to unprecedentedly reducing spirit of hard work among the locals and rising trends for soft jobs and higher wages among the majority of youth in Kashmir . Not only in construction works and agriculture and horticulture activities but even in coaching of students the greater satisfaction is found in non local teachers as compared to local teachers at most of the coaching centres in Kashmir Valley. Not the dearth of talent but reducing commitment to their jobs and will to do less is reducing the level of satisfaction in the teaching of local teachers among the Kashmiri students at majority of the coaching centres across Kashmir.
“Raising the spirit of hard work among the people of all classes and more so among the people connected with the construction works and teaching in private sector would reduce the bad tendencies of youth for higher perks for soft jobs, raise their commitment towards their jobs besides increasing their adjustment in the concerned job markets across Kashmir. A wake call up it is indeed for the community as a whole and the onus obviously to change the bad trends of doing less and earning more lies on the civil society and the parents who could aware the youth about the realities of challenges in the job markets in Kashmir like many states and union territories of the country”.
Though branches and franchise centres of the eminent coaching centres of the country are run by locals in Kashmir but most of teachers engaged for coaching of students at such coaching centres are non locals who are preferred by both the students and as well as parents because of the greater commitment they show in conducting coaching classes.
