KU’s CCPC conducts motivational session for civil service aspirants of GDC, Bemina

Srinagar: An online career guidance cum motivational session was conducted by the Centre for Career Planning and Counselling (CCPC), University of Kashmir in collaboration with Ananlyst IAS under the auspices of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav for the civil service aspirants of Abdul Ahad Azad Memorial Degree College, Bemina, Srinagar on Friday.
During the session, Athar Amir-ul-Shafi Khan (IAS), Commissioner, SMC, Srinagar and CEO, Srinagar Smart City Ltd.; Dr. B. N. Ramesh, IPS, former DGP and Nitin Shivhare, CMD, Analyst IAS interacted with the students of the college and provided them the roadmap for appearing in civil service examinations.
In his opening remarks, Dr. Nazir Ahmad Simnani, Principal, Abdul Ahad Azad Memorial Degree College, Bemina highlighted the importance of career counselling and guidance for competitive examinations and underscored the need for such motivational and guidance sessions for students so that they are able to set and achieve their goals in a time-bound manner.
He said that such career guidance sessions pave way for self-awareness and self-discovery of students as well as their self-accomplishment.
In his talk, Athar Amir-ul-Shafi Khan gave several useful and practical tips to the students on how to prepare for the civil service examinations and guided them about time management, personal management and effective strategies required for cracking the same.
He dwelled upon the appropriate methods of making notes, reading newspapers, solving question papers, writing essays, choosing and reading course material. He called upon students to study with full dedication and commitment and devote maximum time to their preparation.
Dr. B. N. Ramesh, who has triple Ph.D. to his credit besides several other degrees, honours and medals explained twenty important traits required for cracking civil service examinations and urged upon students to inculcate those traits with missionary zeal so as to achieve their goals.
While citing several examples of a few achievers, he highlighted the importance of will power, excellence, self-respect, discipline, sound health and dedication.
Nitin Shivhare in his interaction with the students explained the vision and mission of his academy and the services offered by them to civil service aspirants.
Director of the Centre for Career Planning and Counselling, Prof. M. I. Geer explained the role of CCPC in imparting career counselling, placements and coaching for various national level competitive examinations and expressed his resolve to conduct more such inspirational and motivational guidance sessions for the students of other degree colleges in future in association with academies like Analyst IAS.
He called upon students of Abdul Ahad Azad Memorial College, Bemina to strive hard and contribute towards the vision of Viksit Bharat by the year 2047 by way of dedicating themselves to the service of their nation.
