Alumni Meets Showcase Commitment to Excellence at IUST

Awantipora : The Islamic University of Science and Technology recently hosted alumni meets across departments, underscoring an enduring bond between Alumni and the Alma mater. The events, held in the Departments of Mathematical Sciences, Physics, and Food Technology, served as platforms for sharing of experiences.
According to a statement issued from Public Relations Office IUST here, the Department of Mathematical Sciences organized a meet presided over by Prof. Lily Want, Dean Outreach, alongside Dr. Peer Bilal Ahmad, Head Department of Mathematical Sciences, and Dr. Bilal Ahmad Chat, Alumni Connect Coordinator. Engaging discussions unfolded around the emerging trends in the Actuarial industry, the evolving role of mathematics in the data sphere, and the indispensable skills requisite for successful careers. The alumni discussed emerging trends in the Actuarial industry, advancing role of mathematics in data industry, job market dynamics, and the skills and competencies required for successful careers.
In the alumni meet for the Department of Physics, Dr. Niyaz Ahmad Rather, Head Department of Physics, emphasized the department’s unwavering dedication to alumni engagement. Coordinated by Dr. Bari Maqbool, the event included discussions, addressing contemporary issues and espousing collaborative endeavours.
Civil Engineering Department also held Alumni Research highlighting the department’s commitment to innovation and collaboration. The event was presided by Prof. A.H. Moon, Dean Academic Affairs who emphasized the university’s commitment to fostering innovation, research, and academic excellence, heralding the need for collaborative efforts between academia, industry, and alumni. Dr. Asif H Shah, Head of Civil Engineering, underscored the department’s achievements and emphasized the importance of research.
