TLSC Kangan organizes Awareness Prog on Int’l Human Rights Day

Ganderbal: The Tehsil Legal Services Committee (TLSC) Kangan in collaboration with Human Rights and Anti Corruption Forum J&K observed International Human Rights Day at Confrence Hall Block Office Kangan.
In this programme, officials of Tehsil Legal Services Committee Kangan, President Human Rights & Anti Corruption Forum J&K, Farooq Ahmad Khatana and other officials of the forum, officials of Block office Kangan, PRIs, PLVs of TLSC Kangan and general public participated in the said awareness programme.
Speaking on the occasion, Advocate Sajad Ahmad Khan said that Human Rights Day is celebrated/ Observed every year on 10th of December.
He said when the rights of one man are threatened, It means that the rights of every man are diminished and therefore, we all must stand for it. He said that we all are humans and we are all born with dignity and with equal rights and if someone takes away our rights, it is our duty to fight back.
He said that the United Nations General Assembly first observed World Human Rights Day in 1948. It adopted the universal deceleration of Human Rights (UDHR). People across the globe celebrate World Human Rights Day on 10th December every year. The purpose of celebrating this day is to make sure that everyone knows their basic fundamental rights. Certain rights have been reserved for us that helps us to live independently. The rights are distributed equally and should be no partiality.
Official of block office Kangan, Ghulam Mohammad Rather and president Human Rights & Anti Corruption Forum J&K, Farooq Ahmad Khatana also delivered speeches on the said topic.
At the end of programme appreciation certificates were distributed among best performers, who worked exceptionally well in their respective fields throughout the year.
