VBS Yatra kicks off in Block Mughal Maidan, Kabaddi Match held at Panchayat Sigdi B2; World No. 1 Para Archer Sheetal Devi felicitated

Kishtwar: The initiation of the Viksit Bharat SankalpYatra in two Panchayats of Block Mughal Maidan in District Kishtwar witnessed an enthusiastic welcome on Monday. The IEC Van traversed through PanchayatSigdi B2 and Rahalthal of the block, screening the PM’s message regarding the impact of Centrally Sponsored Schemes.
Local residents, PRIs, and prominent personalities of the area marked their presence in support of the awareness program under VBSY.
In alignment with the Yatra, the Department of Youth Services and Sports Zone Inderwal, guided by KheratiLal Sharma, Youth Services, and Sports Officer Kishtwar, organized a Kabaddi Match for Girls at PanchayatSigdi B2 in Block Mughal Maidan, TRC Mughal Maidan.
The event was held in honor of Sheetal Devi, a remarkable athlete from the zone, who recently achieved the prestigious title of World’s No. 1 Para Archer and secured a Gold Medal in Para Archery.
Present at the occasion were SDM ChatrooShokat Hayat Mattoo, Tehsildar Mughal MaidanNayeemIqbal Sheikh and BDO DheerajBahadur. An intense match between HSS Mughal Maidan Girls and HS Dekri was held with the latter emerging victorious.
Sheetal Devi, hailing from the small village of Lohidar in Zone Inderwal, District Kishtwar, serves as an inspiration to aspiring athletes in the region.
Scheduled activities included on-the-spot services, distribution of Golden Cards, Ujjwala Scheme enrolment, health screening, free medicine distribution camps, and beneficiary experiences shared under ‘MeriKahaniMeriZubani’.
Additionally, the pledge-taking ceremony was held during the Yatra at these locations.
