Kishtwar: Under the esteemed patronage of Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar, Dr. DevanshYadav, the District Administration is going to sponsor free training courses for interested and eligible youth in the age group of 17-40 years. This initiative falls under “SANKALP” (Skill Acquisition and Knowledge Awareness for Livelihood Promotion), a centrally sponsored scheme run by the J&K Skill Development Mission Society.
The Administration on Monday finalized the list of candidates who will be sponsored for twin training programs. A committee was constituted to meticulously scrutinize received application forms and ultimately selected eligible candidates for the said training courses.
Chaired by Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Varunjeet Singh Charak, the committee comprised Assistant Director Employment, Shafkat Keen; District Social Welfare Officer, Zubair Ahmed Lone and District Information Officer Dr. Kuldeep Kumar. The Committee finalized the list of candidates through interviews in accordance to established norms.
The two sponsored training programs offer significant prospects for the enrolled candidates.
The training course being held at Jawahar Institute of Mountaineering and Winter Sports in Pahalgam, District Anantnag, spans 1 month. Completion of this course will empower candidates to establish their own business units, becoming entrepreneurs in the field, particularly within District Kishtwar, renowned for its potential in mountaineering and trekking expeditions.
The candidates undergoing 5-Day training at Rafting Center, Ganga Resort in Rishikesh, District TehriGarhwal, Uttarakhand, will be provided certificates recognized by GarhwalMandalVikas Nigam (GMVN). The certification will enable candidates to launch their own rafting ventures. The sponsored courses cover expenses for accommodation and meals, excluding transportation costs.
These training courses stand as a catalyst to enhance self-employment opportunities for unemployed youth in District Kishtwar.
