Jammu : The Director General J&K Police R.R Swain on Monday presided over the second public grievance redressal programme at Jammu. This was third in the series of such grievances redressal programme launched by DGP J&K with an aim to have first hand appraisal of public grievances.
During a four hour long session from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m., as many as 125 persons including women from different parts of the J&K participated in today’s grievance redressal programme and placed their grievances before the DGP, J&K. Police Chief on this occasion gave a patient hearing to each one of them and maintained that Jammu and Kashmir Police is serious about resolving the grievances of the people pertaining to police services in the J&K. He issued on the spot directions to a few police units in the field to expedite quality redressal. He said that the progress and status of grievances in suitable cases would be shared through whatsapp. Police in a statement issued from Police Headquarters Jammu said that public grievances redressal program is to effectively resolve the legitimate concerns of the public and to gain valuable insights to enhance J&K Police services. It should be noted that the initiative is not aimed for the recruitment of Special Police Officers (SPOs) or to handle general transfer requests.
