50 grams of heroin recovered in Sighra Jammu, Drug peddler arrested: Police

Jammu : Police on Friday said that it has arrested a drug peddler and also recovered 50 grams of heroin from his possession
In a statement issued from district police headquarters Jammu Police said that while continuing it’s drive against drug trafficking and substance abuse, Jammu Police achieved a major success by recovering 50 grams of heroin from one accused in the jurisdiction of Police Post Sidhra.

Stating that a police team of Police Post Sidhra led by SDPO Nagrota Akash Kohli and assisted by SHO Police Station Nagrota Inspr Vishav Partap Singh and In-Charge Police Post Sidhra Police Sub Inspector Arun Kumar during patrolloing at National Highway Sidhra rounded up a suspec who was on his way from Nagrota towards Narwal, Police in it’s statement further said that upon searching the said accused 50 grams of heroin was recovered from his possession.

Police in it’s statement further said that a case vide FIR No 508/2023 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Nagrota and the accused the accused has been also arrested, adding therein that said accused has been identified as :- Bagh Hussain S/o Teg Ali R/o Mukerian Hoshiarpur Punjab.

Stating that further investigation of the case is going on, Police in the concluding para of it’s above quoted statement said that Jammu police is working intensively to uproot the chains of drug supply in the region and thorough questioning of the accused is going on to know the origin of the drugs supply chain. Police also reiterated that Jammu Police is striving hard and taking every possible step to make people especially youth aware to eradicate drug menace. Jammu district police also people of the area to come forward and share information about drug peddling or consumption on 9086100100 or 100 with Police for the cause and identity of those sharing information about drug peddling in Jammu district will be kept confidential.
