DC Shopian visits Chitragam, takes part in VBSY prog

Shopian : The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Shopian, Faz Lul Haseeb, accompanied by SSP, Shopian, Tanushree on Wednesday visited Chitragam tehsil of the district and took part in Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra (VBSY) programme, there.
At the outset, the DC inspected stalls displayed by various line departments showcasing beneficiaries oriented schemes so that the people of the area get knowledge of schemes and avail these schemes meant for the wellbeing of the general public.
Speaking on the occasion, DC stated that the primary objective of this outreach and information dissemination campaign is to empower citizens to become active stakeholders in the country’s development.
He said that the nationwide Yatra has been rolled out in order to connect with the people and make them aware about the multitude of government schemes, the process to avail benefits, besides reaching out to the unreached population and by interacting with beneficiaries.
Meanwhile, the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra (VBSY) campaign on Wednesday reached 6 Panchayats viz. Panchayat Urpara-A, Urpara-B, Chitragam-A, Chitragam-B, Children and Sheikhpura of Block Chitragam, gaining further momentum in the district. People enthusiastically welcomed VBSY at each respective location.
Amid active participation of all stakeholders, the campaign is also spreading awareness through IEC vans about government schemes among the public.
During the day, Health camps, Sankalp pledges, drone demonstration and outreach activities were organized in these Panchayats, besides services were made available on-the-spot to the common masses.
Success stories of empowerment and collective engagement activities towards a shared vision of national development were held in these panchayats through Meri Kahani, Meri Zubaani.
On spot services like, Aadhaar authentication, health screening, distribution of handouts and assistance, was also done on the occasion.
The district officers, block and tehsil officers and officials, officials, PRIs, and public were present on the occasion.
