Ganderbal : Rajbhasha Cell, Central University of Kashmir (CUK), Monday kick-started a two-day workshop on “Use of Modern Technology and Rajbhasha Hindi,” for the administrative staff of the varsity, at Green Campus here.
According to a statement issued from Public Relations Office CUK here, speaking on the occasion, I/c Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Abdul Gani, exhorted upon all the employees to use the Hindi language in official work (noting and drafting) and communicating with other Government departments, in addition to the English. “As majority of the administrative staff of the university have passed all three programmes i.e. Prabodh, Praveen and Pragya courses, with a good percentage, it now becomes imperative for them to implement the learning in the official working and other correspondences,” Prof. Gani said. He said the primary objective of conducting the workshop is to provide the participants with essential skills and knowledge to leverage various Information Technology tools and available software for translating and typing tasks in Rajbhasha. Prof. Gani added that the utilization of advanced technological tools and platforms has not only streamlined communication, but has also played a significant role in promoting and preserving the richness of the Hindi language.
Addressing the participants, Director Indian Languages and Accessibility, Microsoft, Mr. Balendu Sharma, said, the use of modern technology has streamlined government processes and services. “Incorporating Rajbhasha Hindi in digital governance platforms ensures that citizens can interact with government services in their preferred language, promoting inclusivity and accessibility,” he said. He further added that the combination of modern technology and Rajbhasha Hindi is fostering a digital landscape where language is not just a means of communication, but a tool for cultural preservation, empowerment, and global connectivity. Mr. Sharma later acquainted the participants with various tools and software available in the computers which can help and aid the employees to translate the official communications into Rajbhasha Hindi, without any hassles.
Hindi Adhikari, Dr. Sakina Akhtar, who conducted the programme, said the Rajbhasha cell is continuously organising such training programmes to introduce IT tools and software to the administrative staff for translation and typing in Rajbhasha. She further asked the participants to interact with the expert in order to obtain maximum knowledge about the available tools and applications for translating the official work in Rajbhasha efficiently. Dy Reg. Mr. Abdul Rashid Bhat proposed the vote of thanks.
