Jammu : A meeting of all farm field officers of Sheep Husbandry Department, Jammu was held on Saturday under the chairmanship of Director Sheep Husbandry Department Jammu Dr. Naseem Javaid Chowdhary to review the progress made in the implementation of Holistic Agriculture Development Programme besides the credit linked schemes of the department.
The meeting reviewed the credit scheme KCC, AIHDF, Status of Artificial Insemination Programme, Breed Based Farms under NLM, construction and non-construction activities under Capex, ISDS implementation & Government Livestock. He asked the officers to activate already constituted FPOs, Livestock Insurance under NLM and KCC and aimed to double the farmer’s income. He asked the officers to inform the people about employment generating schemes and directed them to conduct regular meetings with the breeders of the area for the betterment of the community.
He exhorted the officers to make earnest efforts to develop these sectors for the growth of the economic profile of the farmers. The department has a major role in development of small ruminants sectors to upgrade the socio- economic status of the rural masses Of Jammu and Kashmir
Among others, who were present included Dr. Tara Chand (I/C Joint Director Extension), Dr Sanjeev Kumar (I/C Joint Director Farms), Dr. Surinder Gupta (Deputy Director, Central) besides other officers of the Department.
