Dir Employment inaugurates one-day job fair in Udhampur  

Udhampur :  The Director Employment, J&K Government, Nisar Ahmad Wani Saturday inaugurated a one-day Job Fair at the District Employment & Counseling Centre in Omarah Morh, Udhampur.
A number of companies, including M/S Hotel Association Katra, M/S LIC of India, SBI Life, M/S Bajaj Allianz, M/S Rajshree Automobiles, M/S Pukhraj Health Care, M/S Aditya Birla Capital, M/S Insecticide, M/S Star Health & Allied Insurance Co., M/S Astro Mahindra, M/S J&K International Solutions, participated, providing a common platform to the job seekers and private sector job providers.
More than 300 unemployed youth from different parts of the Udhampur district took part in the Job Fair, with 124 job seekers being shortlisted by the participating companies.
Priyanka Gupta, Assistant Director of Employment Udhampur, welcomed Director Nisar Ahmad Wani and Deputy Director of Planning, Manish Manhas and gave an overview of the participating companies.
In his address, Director Nisar Ahmad Wani encouraged youth to seize the opportunity of the Job Fair and benefit from self-employment schemes, including Mission Youth Schemes and other government initiatives. He applauded the initiative of DE&CC and motivated participants to explore skill training, self-employment, and opportunities in the private sector, emphasizing the importance of diversifying beyond government jobs.
Government departments, such as District Industries Centre, Agriculture, and Horticulture, also participated in the Job Fair, enlightening attendees about the self-employment schemes within their departments.
Following interactions with participants, the Director Employment presented mementos to company representatives, and keys were handed over to six MUMKIN beneficiaries during the event.
