Thang-Ta Center Tral contestants shine at National Thang-Ta Championship-2023

Pulwama: The 29th Sub-Junior and senior National Thang-Ta Championship 2023, a prestigious event held at the Ranchi Jharkhand witnessed an exhilarating display of talent and determination from young athletes across India. With a total of 620 participants representing 21 states, including 82 participants from the scenic region of jarkhand, the championship proved to be a true celebration of India’s diverse sporting culture.

Among the participants, the Khelo India Thang-Ta Center Bajwani Tral emerged as a shining beacon of excellence. The center, situated in the serene landscapes of Jammu & Kashmir, sent 09 promising contestants to compete in this national arena. These young talents exhibited exceptional skills and an unwavering spirit throughout the championship, ultimately clinching an impressive tally of 8 medals.

The medallists, particpants from Khelo India Thang-Ta Center Bajbani Tral at the 29th Sub-Junior senior National Thang-Ta Championship 2023 are as follows: Aabida Ashraf (gold), Faizan Ul Fayaz (silver), Masifa (Silver), Moein Din (silver), Hadeqa (bronze), Sahib Sibtain (bronze), Numan Hilal (bronze), Yasir Irshad (bronze) & Jasveen Kour.

These outstanding achievements not only reflect the dedication and hard work of the young athletes but also underscore the significance of grassroots sports development programs like Khelo India. The support and encouragement extended to these athletes by their families, the local community, and the coaching staff at Khelo India Thang-Ta Center Bajbani Tral have played a pivotal role in their success.

The 29th Sub-Junior senior National Thang-Ta Championship 2023 was an inspiring testament to the rich heritage of Thang-Ta, a traditional Manipuri martial art form, which is gaining prominence on the national stage. It showcased the remarkable potential of the region’s young talent, as well as the commitment of Khelo India to nurturing and promoting sports in remote areas.

The achievements of these budding athletes from Khelo India Thang-Ta Center Bajbani Tral not only bring glory to Jammu & Kashmir but also serve as an inspiration for aspiring Thang-Ta enthusiasts across India. Their journey has just begun, and we anticipate even greater accomplishments in the world of Thang-Ta.
