Jammu: Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Ramesh Kumar who is also Electoral Roll Observer, on Friday chaired a meeting to review the ongoing Special Summary Revision of Photo Electoral Rolls in Jammu District.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner Jammu (DEO) Sachin Kumar Vaishya; ADC, ACR, EROs, AEROs and other district officers.
During the meeting, the Deputy DEO briefed the chair about the progress made in the ongoing process related to the Summary Revision of Photo Electoral Rolls for the year 2023.
The Div Com conducted thorough evaluation of the progress in the district, examining the number of fresh application for inclusion and other claims and objections.
He emphasised the importance of adhering to the guidelines set by the Election Commission of India (ECI) and instructed the concerned EROs and AEROs to conduct revisions promptly in line with the notified schedule.
The Div Com exhorted the EROs to make concerted efforts to spread awareness through SVEEP program and encourage all eligible young electors to register their names in electoral rolls, ensuring that no eligible voter goes unregistered.
The Div Com inquired about the number of special camps organized in each constituency and progress achieved. He asked all concerned officers to complete special summary revision with 100 percent enrolment of eligible voters including addition of new voters and deletion of duplicate voters.
