ADDC Poonch chairs DCDC meeting, Underlines enhanced role of cooperatives to increment farmers’ income

Poonch: A meeting of District Cooperative Development Committee (DCDC) was convened on Friday here under the chairmanship of Additional District Development Commissioner Poonch Sandesh Kumar Sharma to review the progress on various deliverables set in the previous meeting.
Deputy Registrar, Cooperative Societies Poonch Vishal Deep Chandan who is also the convener of DCDC apprised the house about the achievements and actions taken since last DCDC which included 100% enrolment of PACS as common service centres, issuance of drug licenses in favour of PACS under PMJAKs. It was further informed that the process for enrolling fertilizer PACS as PM-Kisan Samriddhi Kendras has been set in motion and a Kisan samriddhi Kendra has been set up under Mangnar MPCS. Meeting also discussed modalities regarding setting up of grain storage facility under GOI’s world’s largest grain storage project in district Poonch.
A detailed discussion was held with agriculture and allied sectors to draw cross linkages of the cooperative with other sectors with the aim to bring cooperatives more comprehensively under the scope of HADP.
The meeting deliberated upon contemporary dynamics in the cooperative sector and highlighted that COOPERATIVES would play a major role in achieving the goal of $5 trillion economy and SDGs which is also the theme for this years’ “All India Cooperative Week”.
ADDC Poonch directed for aggressive persuasion of goals set for the next timeframe and also submitted ATRs on a periodic basis.
Further, he directed allied sectors to enroll as many cooperative societies under HADP as possible so that benefits reach these productive groups of farmers.
The meeting was attended by Vishal Deep Chandan (Convener), Deputy Registrar cooperatives Poonch, Rakesh Sharma, chief agriculture officer Poonch, Sanjeev Kumar, chief Horticulture officer Poonch, Chander Bhardwaj, district development manager Nabard , chief animal husbandry officer poonch and representatives of food civil supplies department, DCCB, lead bank, among others.
The meeting ended with a vote of thanks.
