Jammu: Sheep Husbandry Department Jammu on started a 10 day training programme for Sheep/Goat breeders under the Capacity Building component (Shearing Training programme for breeders) of “Promotion of Wool & Pelt for effective processing and marketing” project under Holistic Agriculture Development Programme (HADP).
The training program is being held in Government Sheep Breeding Farm Reasi under the overall supervision of Dr. Naseem Javaid Chowdhary, Director Sheep Husbandry Department Jammu.
Sheep/Goat breeders drawn from different districts of Jammu Division shall be trained in Machine Sheep Shearing through live demonstration.
The Training programme is aimed at providing farm exposure on Machine Sheep Shearing to the Sheep/Goat breeders. The Sheep/Goat breeders will perform machine shearing in the field for 06 days.
Among others who were present at the programme were Dr R. K. Manhas (Deputy Director, Government Sheep Breeding Farm Reasi), Dr Pritam Manhas (Principal Training Class Kartholi), Dr Vijay Kumar (Officer Incharge Training Class Kartholi), Dr Naresh Kumar (VAS Wool Board Kartholi) and Asheesh Sharma, Publicity Officer, Sheep Husbandry Department Jammu.
