Srinagar: Police on Thursday said that it has attached property land measuring seven Marlas belonging to a drug peddler namely Fayaz Ahmad Malla S/o Gh. Mohi-ud-Din Malla R/o Muqam Himwanpora Kralgund under section 68-F of NDPS Act 1985.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that the property was identified as illegally acquired property during the course of investigation/enquiry conducted by Police Handwara, adding therein that the property was prima facie acquired from illicit trafficking in narcotic drug and psychotropic substances by the owner. Police in it’s statement further said that the said drug peddler is involved in Case FIR numbers 67/2020 and 73/2022 of Police Station Kralgund, adding therein that the drug peddler is currently detained under PIT-NDPS Act and lodged at Central Jail Kot Balwal Jammu.
In the concluding para of it’s above quoted statement Police reaffirmed it’s commitment to combat the drug menace and locals people of the area hailed the initiative taken by Police with regard to the attachment of immoveable property, which has been raised/ used from illicit trafficking of narcotics by the drug peddlers in the Police District Handwara.
