Srinagar: Police on Wednesday said that it has arrested two militant associates of LeT militant outfits along Srinagar-Jammu Bypass.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that Srinagar Police on Tuesday received inputs about the movement of suspected militants along Sringar-Jammu Bypass after which a joint team of Srinagar Police and QRT of CRPF set up a strong checkpoint near Sham Lal Petrol Pump, N R Colony at Srinagar-Jammu Bypass
Stating during naka checking, a white-coloured Santro car bearing registration number JK09A-2788 coming from Parimpora towards Tengpora tried to flee from the spot upon seeing the police party at the checkpoint but the suspects travelling in the said care were apprehended tactfully, Police in it’s statement further said that during search, two militant associates of LeT militant outfits identified as Mumtaz Ahmad Lone S/o Gh Qadir Lone R/o Trehgam Kupwara and Jahangir Ahmad Lone S/o Gh Mohidin Lone R/o Trehgam Kupwara were arrested besides a huge cache of arms and ammunition including 2 Pistols, 4 magazines, 2 filler magazines and 8 grenades were recovered from their possession.
In the concluding para of it’s above quoted stated Police said that it has registered a case vide FIR No.128/2023 under relevant sections of law in this connection at Police Station Batmaloo besides which investigation has been initiated.
