Crackdown on Traffic Violators continues in Ang; 4 DLs Suspended

Traffic Jams seen roads as normal activities resumed in Srinagar and other major towns of the valley amid COVID-19 restrictions eased by the authorities on Mondays and Thursdays  in Kashmir valley . UNI

Anantnag : A team of Motor Vehicles Department Monday laid special nakka at Khanabal- Bijbehara Road to check violation of the various visible offences under Motor Vehicles Act, 2019 and Central Motor Vehicles Rules 1989.
During the checking, nearly 120 Vehicles were checked which included as many as 30 School Buses. 40 vehicles were blacklisted on spot for various offences such as diversion of route permit, carrying students in private vehicles, carrying excess students in school buses, Non use of seat belt, plying without fitness, without permit and tempering Speed Limiting Device. Fine to the tune of Rs 45000 is expected to be realised from the violators.
Meanwhile the inspection team also made the people aware about their duties towards observing traffic norms and road safety while travelling.
The violators were informed that similar checking drives would continue in the coming days and asked them to strictly adhere to traffic norms to avoid any further strict action by the department.
