Chairman DDC Kupwara reviews status of JJM, power scenario

Kupwara : Chairman, District Development Council (DDC) Kupwara, Irfan Sultan Panditpuri on Monday chaired a meeting of concerned officers at Handwara to review the status of Jal Jeevan Mission and power scenario in the sub division Handwara.
ADC Handwara, Nazir Ahmad Mir; DDC Members of Rajwar/Mawar/Nutnussa and officers from PHE and PDD attended the meeting.
The meeting held a threadbare discussion regarding the status of various ongoing water supply schemes coming up in different areas of Handwara PHE division.
The Chairman DDC directed the concerned officers to speed up the completion of pending works under JJM so that people at large are benefitted under the ambitious programme which aims at providing potable tap water to every household.
Issues pertaining to transformers were also discussed in the meeting during which the Chairman asked the concerned engineers of PDD to ensure that the transformers damaged during the winter period are repaired or replaced with buffer stock as per the set timeline so that people do not suffer.
The ADC also spoke and asked the officers for added dedication and coordination in facilitating the people with uninterrupted power and water supply in this winter season.
