Srinagar : Police on Friday said that it has arrested two persons for being involved in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals in Handwara district besides seizing two vehicles from their possession.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that a special team of Handwara Police seized 2 vehicles (1 Tipper and 1 Tractor) following specific input about illegal extraction and transportation of minerals at Vadipora Handwara.
Stating that it has accordingly registered a case under relevant sections of law and initiated further investigation into the case, Police in the concluding para of it’s above quoted statement warned that those indulging in illegal mining activities shall be dealt as per law and appealed people to share information regarding the crimes in their neighbourhood with their concerned police units.
