Jammu: Police on Friday said that it has solved a theft case in Jammu and recovered stolen items worth Rs 1.5 lakhs.
In a statement issued from District Police Headquarters Jammu Police said that Police in Jammu has solved a theft case after recovering stolen items worth Rs 1.5 Lakh in Narwal area of the district, adding therein that the information was received at Police Post Narwal regarding theft by some unknown persons who broke into few shops in yard No 5 in the area under the jurisdiction of PS Bahu Fort.
Stating that a case under FIR No. 330/2023 U/S 457/380 IPC was registered at Police Station Bahu Fort and subsequently investigation was also initiated, Police in it’s statement further said that special police teams of Police Post Narwal led by SDPO East Parupkar Singh and assisted by SHO Police Station Bahu Fort Inspr Shiv Dev Singh and In Charge Police Post Narwal Sub Inspector Lalit Sharma did strenuous efforts and with the help of CCTV footages of the area finally rounded up one suspect namely Ishtiqar Muneer S/o Mohd. Saleem R/o Nowshera, Rajouri A/P Narwal.
Police in it’s statement further said that during questioning the accused confessed his involvement in the above case and on his disclosure stolen items worth Rs 1.5 lakhs were recovered from his possession, adding therein that the overall arrests and recoveries were made under the supervision of SP South Shaheen Wahid and further investigation of the case is going on.
