Jammu: NSS Unit and Road Safety Club of Government Degree College Sunderbani in collaboration with Handicraft Service Centre, Jammu organizes 2-day Crafts Demonstration cum Awareness Programme under District Level Gandhi Crafts and weaves Mahaotsav.
The programme was organized under supervision of Principal of the College Dr. K.K Sharma.
In her keynote address, Ambika Sambyal Sr. Assistant Director briefed about the importance of programme.
Principal of the college emphasizes that Handicraft goods help to generate capital. He briefed on the handicraft of Jammu and Kashmir particularly emphasized on the handicrafts of Jammu Division and make familiar the guests and students with the different forms of hand art prevalent in District Rajouri.
Anirudh Kapil Assistant Director briefed about Handicraft business and how it is helping in generating employment with low capital investment. The resource persons from handloom demonstrated their crafts and also shared their success stories with student were Arvind Kumar, Sushma Devi, Suman Balla, Bindu Ahuja and Rashpal. The students of the college took keen interest in knowing their success stories and also in process of making the items using less capital.
Prof. Beant Singh, Prof Sheraz Kousser, Prof. Sham Lal, Rafiq Ahmed, Prof. Rabinder Kumar, Dr. Ishaq, Dr. Shafiq ur Rehman, Neha Sharma and Nishu were present on the occasion.
