DC Srinagar inspects under construction Migrant Transit Accommodation at Zewan

DC Asks the executing agencies to adhere to the set deadline

Srinagar : Deputy Commissioner (DC), Srinagar, Mohammad Aijaz Asad on Friday undertook a visit to Zewan area of District to oversee the progress of ongoing works being executed for providing Migrant Transit Accommodation to the PM Package employees.
During the visit, the DC was accompanied by Chief Planning Officer, Superintending Engineer, PHE, Executive Engineer R&B, Executive Engineer PDD, Tehsildar Panthachowk and other concerned.
The Deputy Commissioner took a round of the various under construction blocks of the Migrant Transit Accommodations. He was apprised that the work on the project for construction of 39 blocks comprising of 936 flats is going on in full swing and as on date an amount of Rs 50 Cr has been expended against the allotted cost of Rs 112.34 crore.
While reviewing the present status of the project, the DC was informed that over 50 percent target under the project has been achieved with completion of civil works on 26 blocks comprising 624 flats.
With regard to providing of drinking water facilities at the Transit Camp, the DC was informed that over 40 % works have been completed on the construction of 50,000 Gallons RCC Sump and Operators uarter at a cost of Rs 32.24 lakh. While 75 % works on Construction of 100000 Gallons dome type RCC service reservoir has been completed for which Rs 35.04 lakh have been earmarked.
Likewise, Rs 1.28 crore project for Pipe network and construction of Chowkidar quarter is also under allotment process. In addition, project for Construction of chain-link fencing around structures has also been alloted with the cost of Rs 19 lakh.
While Rs 1.10 project for Electrical Mechanical component is in tendering process through Rural Mechanical Division.
Similarly, while reviewing the Status of under construction 1×10 MVA, 33/11 kV Receiving Station & allied works for Transit Accommodation being carried out at an estimated cost of Rs 3.61 crore, the DC was informed that 10 Mva Receiving station will be commissioned , however, power supply to the towers would be made by December 2023.
Similarly, the DC took firsthand appraisal of Distribution works being executed at an estimated cost of Rs 6.06 crore comprising Erection of 2 No.11kV feeders, DTs for of 39 residential towers, and Illumination/ Streetlights to the periphery.
The DC was informed that 2 No. dedicated 11kV feeders for transit camp shall be completed by December 2023 and Insulation of 10 Nos DTs for 10 Blocks which are expected to be made functional by end of December 23 shall be taken up side by side with landscape works of R&B department. While for installation of streetlights SE KPDCL was told to immediate start the same based on layout given by R & B Department.
On the occasion, the DC asked the concerned executing agency to handover 10 blocks of the facility by the December, 2023 as committed by the executing agency and further accelerate the pace of ongoing construction works to ensure timely completion of the whole project.
