Doha: Israeli forces have detained several members of the medical staff at the Ibn Sina hospital in the city of Jenin in the West Bank, official Palestinian news agency reported on Friday.
The Israeli military evacuated medical staff from the hospital and searched the facility, the media outlet said, citing witnesses, adding that some staff members were interrogated and later detained.
Soldiers were initially deployed near the hospital and started to fire tear gas at the facility, injuring several people, the report also said.
Only two hospitals in Jenin continue to operate, with the Israeli military disrupting the work of four other hospitals in the city, the news agency reported, citing the Palestinian Health Ministry.
Media reported also on Friday that at least five people have been killed in a drone strike by Israel on the refugee camp in Jenin, with nine more injured.
