70th All India Cooperative Week celebrated at Town Hall Kupwara

Kupwara : On the eve of 70th All India Cooperative Week, the Department of Cooperatives, District Kupwara, in collaboration with Cooperative Societies on Thursday organized a seminar to highlight the achievements of the cooperative sector in the district and to generate awareness among general public.
Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Kupwara, Ghulam Nabi Bhat was chief guest on the occasion.
At arrival, the ADC hoisted the Cooperative flag in presence of Deputy Registrar Cooperative, Mohammad Arif Shah and other concerned officers to mark the celebration of the event.
While addressing the function, the ADC impressed upon the concerned officers to provide mass awareness to the people about the schemes of the Cooperative department so that they could get benefitted properly. He directed them for proper coverage of success stories of the department so that unemployed youth in particular will be encouraged to earn their livelihood through different avenues provided by the department.
The ADC highlighted the role of Cooperative Societies in the socio-economic upliftment of the members of the Societies and emphasized the need for formation of new Cooperatives in different fields by involving more and more unemployed educated youth. He impressed upon all the stakeholders to work hard for revitalizing the vast infrastructure of cooperative societies and generate maximum avenues for the employment of unemployed educated youth.
Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Registrar Cooperative Societies highlighted the achievements of Cooperative Societies in the district. He provided detailed awareness regarding various schemes of the Cooperative department in the district.
The other speakers enlightened the fundamentals of the cooperative movement and its essence in the present scenario. Special emphasis was given to persuade the educated youth, women and people from weaker sections to join the fold of cooperatives for earning their livelihood in multiple diversified sectors.
Among others, Cooperators, Managing Committee Members, office bearers and employees of various Cooperative Societies participated in the function.
