VBSY: Mega Inaugural event unveils ambitious journey from Dawar Gurez on eve of JanJatiya Gaurav Divas-2023

Bandipora: The Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra (VBSY) Wednesday kick-started its transformative journey from the tribal region of Gurez in district Bandipora with the participation of over four thousand people.
The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora, Dr Owais Ahmad presided over the mega event held at Dawar, Gurez.
The Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra witnessed dynamic launch by the Prime of India, Narendra Modi, on the occasion of Bisra-Munda Jayanti also observed as JanJaati Gaurav Diwas, by flagging-off Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) Vans.
During the inaugural event at Dawar Gurez, beneficiaries of government sponsored schemes interacted with LG Manoji Sinha virtually and shared their experiences about the benefits of availed scheme through ‘Meri Kahani Meri Zubani’ segment.
At Dawar Gurez, the yatra commenced with flagging-off IEC Van by the Deputy Commissioner Bandipora. Besides DDC Members, PRIs, a huge gathering of people, including men, women, and children, participated in the event. Viksit Bharat Sankalp Oath was also administered to all the participants on the occasion.
Addressing the participants at Dawar Gurez, the DC said that during the yatra several schemes including Jal Jeevan Mission, Ayushman Bharat Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana, Jan Dhan Yojana, PM Awas Yojana, PM PRANAM Yojana and Urea Subsidy Scheme will be showcased.
He said that the vans will travel to different gram panchayats of Gurez sub division, disseminating information through audio-visuals, brochures, pamphlets and other mediums in regional languages.
Dr Owais said that one of the major components of this yatra is that it will not only disseminate information but also collect feedback about the schemes. He informed that all the gram panchayats will be covered during the outreach and awareness campaign.
The DC in his inspiring address emphasized the significance of unity in propelling the nation towards growth. ‘Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra’ is not just a journey; it is a commitment to the prosperity of our nation.
On the occasion, stalls were installed, at the venue, by different departments including horticulture, agriculture, NRLM, J&K Bank, Handicraft and Handloom department, Forest department besides other key departments to disseminate awareness regarding various government schemes available for the welfare of the general public.
Among others, ADDC Bandipora Mohammad Ashraf Hakak, SDM Gurez, JDP Bandipora, besides other senior district and sectoral officers were present on the occasion.
Meanwhile, a series of cultural events and programs were also presented to display the traditional culture of the area.
