DLSA B’gam celebrates Children Day amongst the Students of Pareesha Khansahib

Budgam: As part of calendar of activities, the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Budgam under the aegis of Jammu and Kashmir Legal Services Authority and in collaboration with Social Welfare Department (Mission Vatsalya), CWC and SAA on Tuesday celebrated Children’s Day with Children of Pareesha at KhansahibBudgam.
The event at Pareesha marks a significant milestone in the promotion of rights of children and their holistic development. National Children Day is celebrated annually on November 14th in commemoration of the birth anniversary of first Prime Minister of Independent India Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru.
The event was organized under the guidance of Chairman DLSA Budgam, Khalil Ahmad Chaudhary and under the supervision of Secretary DLSA Budgam.
The event commenced with the recitation of some holy verses of The Quran, followed by Naat-e-Sharif presented by the Children of Pareesha.
Jahangir Ahmad Bakshi, Secretary DLSA Budgam highlighted the importance of Child Rights and Legal Framework provided for the protection and well being of Children. He also distributed fruits and sweets amongst the students of Pareesha.
In the event students of Pareesha performed a number of colourful activities which include debate, dance, folk songs, etc showcasing their talent.
Afshana Paul Chairperson Child Welfare Committee, Budgam underscored the importance of collaboration and effective implementation of Child Welfare measures. She also highlighted the role of CWC in protection of Child Rights.
The programme was attended by Jehangir Ahmad Bakshi, Secretary DLSA Budgam, Chairperson CWC, Tabassum Jan, Member CWC, RifatAra Coordinator Specialized Adoption Agency (SAA), staff of PareeshaKhansahib, students of Pareesha, staff members of DLSA Budgam and dedicated PLV’s of DLSA Budgam.
It is apt to mention here that in the celebration of Children Day series of activities were also carried out by DLSA Budgam wherein PLV’s conducted programmes at their Legal Aid Clinics, Legal Literacy Clubs existing in various Panchyatgars and Higher Secondary Schools in district Budgam.
