Bandipora: The last round of week-long Back to Village- phase fifth (B2V-5) outreach programme concluded Tuesday on a high note across the district during which designated officers profiled developmental needs of rural areas.
The Back to Village-5 programme was held in 151 Panchayats of the district in three phases during which the designated officers reached out to the people in all the Panchayat Halqas to review the implementation of decisions taken in earlier four phases of the Back to village programme. The officers assessed development needs and took feedback from the grassroots, helpful for planning on socio-economic transformation of rural areas.
During the week-long programme, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora, Dr Owais Ahmed; Additional District Development Commissioner, Mohommad Ashraf Hakak and Additional Deputy Commissioner, Umar Shafi Pandit visited the Panchayats and took part in the programme, and also inspected several activities taking place during the campaign.
Dr Owais said that 151 officers were deputed by the General Administration Department and district administration to the Panchayats of the district under the B2V5 programme which culminated in three phases. He added that, B2V5 programme in Bandipora was marked with participation of senior most officers of the J&K Government.
He said the visiting officers documented the developmental profile and identified development and welfare issues which need intervention at government level for resolution.
In other parts of the district, visiting officers in 50 Panchayats held interaction with PRI representatives and reviewed the progress of the works on the last day of the B2V5 programme.
They also inspected the ongoing developmental works besides inaugurating various developmental projects and distributed thousands of land pass books, artisans cards, beneficiaries certificates, soil health cards and mother and child care kits among the beneficiaries.
The campaign witnessed huge Public participation and villages remained abuzz with the festivities of the Government’s Outreach Programme.
